Project: Onitsha - Owerri Road Dualization Project
Client: Federal Ministry of Works and Housing - Nigeria
Description: The purpose of this project is to develop design drawings for the highway connecting Onitsha to Owerri in Nigeria using GIS technology and high-resolution satellite images. IKONOS satellite images were acquired, orthorectified, and used in setting the horizontal alignment of highway. Detailed engineering drawings are all managed within the GIS environment. SIRAJ is also supervising the construction and GIS is used again to monitor the progress of work and for the generation of quantities and payment certificates. The total length of the Road is 82.3 km in addition to an 8 km single carriage way by-pass. The project includes two bridges and three interchanges.
